99.5% of MH's are low or no milage speedbagger, tell me are you buying it as a user/rider or for 3D living room art, this is a serious question and needs serious consideration.

Re: WTB mh900e (Monstaman)

buying to ride!!!!!!!!!

btw, i couldn't even get it into my house.

and, you'll like this, i live in a place that arguably has the worst roads in the country and where you can ride only half the year.....

DETROIT.

Re: WTB mh900e (speedbagger)

I admire your enthusiasm, it is great to see, if you are going to get a MH and have your heart set on it be sure to garage it well and protect it from the elements.

As an insight I am the owner of # 1414 and have had a few problems, just to let you know where you are at the following problems are some of the problems that tend to occur accross the board on these bikes,

Dasboard failures
Exhaust cracking
Battery failures
X bracket failures
Damper failures

Unfortunately these bikes where more designed to be a looker and viewed thru a glass cabinet, I do not want to dampen your enthusiasm but if you really want a rider then maybe another Ducati model would be better.

Hope this helps.

Hey Speedbagger have you asked Keith from Superbike Specialties he is in our area and while his isn't stock it is better. Anyway I believe he wants to sell his.

So you think there are only 10 of these bikes being ridden, worldwide?

The key word LOW

....riden or riden with heaps of replacements and problems, wee difference.

A lot of the guys on the MHe forums are starting to get some amount of miles and they are starting to fail like mine, I bought mine as a rider but in fact they are glass case bikes, failure/milage rate is BLOODY high on these no to ways.

In the ducatiowners mhgroup there is only just over 200 members which is 10% in the club, and that is after all the great work from johnc getting it up an pushing it, very well done in my eyes. That leaves 1800 odd bikes unaccounted for or owners who don't ride, don't wonna ride, dont care?, or don't wonna be proud of there mechanical mere!

Re: WTB mh900e (908SSP)

908ssp--if you are refering the the mh at rosenau in dearborn, i've seen it. cool looking bike with some nice hardware. however, i'm looking for one in relatively stock trim. thanks though.

monstaman--talk about trying to discourage a potential ducati owner!!!! i'm kidding.....looking at your issues list and doing some research of my own, i think i could probably live with the mh 'quirks'. btw, i thought the 2 valve was the pillar of reliability!?!?

So did I!

My Monsta, S4, reliable as the day is long, if my MH was half as good as the Monsta I would have a grin you could not remove with a bulldozer, unfortunately I have been stung heavily by Ducati on this and they do not wonna know about it.

I have written all of the above without trying to be negative but pointing out some hard facts that a fello Ducatisti should know, I don't wonna see you in the same predicament that I am in being in love with something so much and having it removed from me with even a smile from Ducati, if you really want an MH go get one but just be prepared, that is all I am saying.

Cheers Andi

Re: WTB mh900e (speedbagger)

Hold out and buy a Paul Smart in November for about what you will pay for a
MH900E used, the prices are way to high for the MH right now. Last year they where 3K cheaper. The Paul Smart has the DS1000 motor and a warranty. Or wait till the Smart comes out and the MH price will drop....

Re: WTB mh900e (izzug)

If the Euro stays high any Paul Smart not pre-ordered will be at current exchange rate. Now it's about 1.3=1. MH's may look like a steal!!
