Can you post some pictures please? I'd like to see what you're talking about.

I considered doing something like that but thought the passenger seat structure would be wobbly with a case attached due to freeplay in the rear lock latch.
I'll send you some pix and please post it up for me. I'd said. I've been using this for years. Made it to Canada and back. Mexico D.F. and back without a hitch.

Though, your concerns are very valid. I also have a bungee cord just in case.

Since I am at it..I'll show you guys the other Tai Mod:D

Who can post pictures for me..I'm too stupid and lazy for photoisland..damm I hate them.

Did you powder coat the clutch cover?
No sir,

That would be high temp, chemical resistant and chip resistant paint. Second cover I've done with zero issues.

Not quite as tough as powder coat, but it does the job just fine.

Have my RC apart again this winter. Mainly to fix the slipping out of gear trans problem. Doing a few other things while I have the cases apart too.
I'll throw up some pics later.

Mine is back apart...
CBR coil mod being done and changing plugs. Color is still looking good on the old ones and my bike has 38k on her.
Also installing new 6K HID's with slim ballasts to replace my one bad one and the monster Ballasts that I had previously.

I've always wondered how different the heli-bars are than something like the stock bars on a cbr which rise up from the clamping surface (opposite of what the RC bars do)

From the pictures that I've seen of the heli-bars, they are pretty much the same thing. I have a set of cbr1000 bars that I was running, and pulled off when I put the sato clip ons on. It would be interesting to take some measurements and compare them against the heli-bars. If you have them handy, please post up a few pictures.

I was never able to get the cbr's up high enough to touch the underside of the triple without the clutch master reservoir hitting the upper fairing. I think that is pretty much the limiting factor in all risers for the RC, unless you are willing to cut the upper.

So new project....
I blew a fork seal out this weekend. This is on a set of Freshly rebuilt forks by 2K Motorsports Richfield MN. I will have replaced both Fork seals now in less than 2500 miles of the rebuild. The Honda stealership told me they had been assembled wrong and not bled properly causing them to pressurize the seal too much.

They weren't bled properly and are pressurizing the are above the seals. causing the fork oil to puke out even when the fork is off the bike. The tech that disassembled them said when he unscrewed the cap it shot towards the ceiling and he had to catch it. (going on what he said. I am going to ask to watch them take them apart this time.

More progress

Here is some more progress I my current crf450r supermoto and RC51 builds.

Factory Pro EVO shift star (not really much to see :D ) also painted water pump cover and installed it. That red oil cap is from a crf450r (direct fit so why not?)

Oh yeah :D

I still have to do all the wiring and get a battery for her. I just really busy right now. I'm closer to having the 51 finished, so she's first so I can get riding again.

I'm almost done though. I'm having some issues with the rear wheel / chain clearance, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

BTW, Did you offset your rear wheel when you tarded your crf?

mine was Tarded when i bought it. But yes my rear wheel was offset. it doesn't take too much to offset it to get the clearance.

Mine was streeted but I didn't run a battery at all. I just ran the lights power off the stator. so the lights were only on when she was running. and i also had a hidden switch to power the ignition(no Key) and i used a Disc brake lock whenever i parked it. I also never road it anywhere that I was worried it would sit for too long unattended. 450's are light enough 2 guys(or one big ass Mofo) can pick it up and load it into a truck.

I love how light it is. It's so easy to move the bike around my garage. I can almost bike it up alone. I remember when I first got it and it was in the back of my pickup instead of a ramp, a friend and I just basically picked it up and rolled kinda rolled it out of the truck.

Can't say the same for my piggy LOL.

I guess I'll just have to offset the rear a little.
