Re: Where do I get a reverse shifter for a 996? (jaymags)
From me, if you like. I have a spare sitting in my toolbox. Made by MadDuc, gold anodized, looks very much like the one sold recently in this thread. http://speedzilla.zeroforum.co...44840
I'll do the same deal. $75 plus ship
If you are interested, I'll take a pic tonight.
The only site that I saw a shifter on, was Madduc's. One site, only, had a rear set with a reverse shifter, that I saw.
Thanks for the offer Blade, but gold will not work at all. Bike is black and silver. lol
I have a set of used race shift rear sets complete. On the bike for 6 track days, silver, Italian made like DP ones, fully adjustable. I also have spare foot peg, toe pegs brake pedal and more. I was going to put on ebay but if we can work out a deal, great. E-mail me off list at [email protected] you can check my ebay feedback by looking up seller bob3wolf.
Piece of cake. Flip the S-shaped piece over, so that the "S" curves away from the bike, instead of toward the bike like stock. The Heim joint at the end of the shift rod will now mount on the inboard side of the "S", and above the shift shaft.
You'll need to space it away from the "S" piece by about 5 or 6mm, and then use a longer Hex screw to compensate.

Okay, I took some before and after photos to make it more clear...
Thanks for the demo and pics, that is definitely option "b". I want to try to get away from the linkage and see what a direct shifter to the gearbox feels like. I have FastbyFerracci rearsets and do not plan on getting rid of them, but thanks for the offer.
I might also add that this mod works with some - but not all - brands of rearsets. If you have aftermarket rearsets, you'll have to test fit to see if it will work...
