I've heard rumors for using other wheels on the RC, like wheels from a 954 or 929. Just looking for a cheap set of extra wheels for the track. just didn't know if i had to swap seals or rotors, etc?
What do you consider cheap and how fast do you need them?
I have a spare set of SP2 wheels that were supposedly in decent condition with no bearings. (I haven't even touched them yet since i bought them while i was gone and am still gone) I bought them with the intention of powder coating them for street wheels and using my old set as track wheels.... Then i bought a track bike.
SO I might sell them for the right price. otherwise i will powder coat them and run them.
which means i will still have a spare set for sale. That will be a little cheaper cuz the front a has a little rash (less than an Inch) and is the one I am running on the street now with no shake at all.
I won't be home for 3 weeks but can get them shipped with in the first week.
I think a set of SP2 wheels (powder coated in the color of your choosing if you wish) is the best bang for your buck....It can be done for under $500 if you play your cards right. I also know that it is fairly easy to swap the 3 spoke CBR wheels on if you like the "classic" look for the track
Thanks for the info guys. Found a rear wheel from my buddy tom from moto-junkies, trying to find a front wheel now. And yes, I do want to powder coat them. I just haven't found any front wheels.
