hello all, I'm trying to figure out what sensor this is, #12 in the pic. This one is off a '02 SS but I'd venture to say it's common to all models. The catalog just says "sensor"

That is the crank position sensor. The ECU uses that for timing. rpm and stuff.

It's an engine sensor, that all that is in the book...I'm guessing it to tell the ECU in what position is the engine...I could be wrong

It tells the computer what warp you are in and how much of the dylithium crystals to use
