okay ,, here it is in a nut shell ...
Back in April I ordered a few parts ( frame sliders & levers ) from a shop across the bay from me ,, during that period they have moved ( up the street from present local ) .Also they were going to have a re grand opening on Sat .
So in the mean time I have made a few calls and stopped by ... no parts and no contact ... so i call them last Friday to inquire the status of my order , in the mean time , small talk , the guy on the other side of the line asked if i was going to stop by the place for the re grand opening ...
Well guess what ??
No parts !!
Okay so I tell him to cancell the order ,, ( come on now April to June !! )
The the guy says to me ,,, Don't Bother Coming To Our Store ????? and hangs up .
This Shop ( Motostrano ) is listed in a few other boards that i read on ... and before i post my displeasure all over the net ... about the great service i recived ..
or ... should i just let it go ?????

I'd go somewhere else.

That's pretty odd behavior. It's not like you are sticking the guy with 16.5" BST wheels - levers (assuming they are normal) and frame sliders should be easy-sell items. But I agree - why waste your on-line experience bashing the shop when you could spend the time with some quality porn and spend your dollars somewhere else.

Re: What would you do ?? (Rooster)

Rooster, if I owned that business and the guy worked for me, he'd be looking for a new job. I wouldn't bother trashing them as it looks like they'll do that on their own with their current customer service policy. Even if they had told you up front, that it would take a few months to get the parts in, you have a right to cancel out. Hell things change over that much time. Some people would just get the parts elsewhere and not even bother to cancel the order leaving them with a restocking fee or with having to sell them elsewhere. I ordered a Zero Gravity windscreen for a dealer who dealt with Tuker Rocky. After waiting several weeks and calling once a week, I was finally told by the parts guy that Tucker Rocky told him that Zero Gravity had discontinued that model windscreen. I call Zero Gravity to ask why they would stop making a windscreen for a 748/916/996. They were shocked and wanted to know who had told me that. I gave them the info and they called me back to tell me that Tucker Rocky was just waiting for the orders coming in from the retailers to reach a certain number so that they get free shipping and should not hold up a customer order for any reason. Zero gravity sent me a windscreen direct. Now when I order from a dealer, I get a estimated delivery date and if it takes them too long to get something in, I cancel out and I go elsewhere.

Re: What would you do ?? (04749s)

Short answer: DO NOT LET IT GO!!! Keep on them!!!

I had a similar experience with the shop in question,I bought a brembo radial brake master cylinder that ended up being the wrong size,so I had to wait for the right one to come in,at least one month. They get thier product from Parts Unlimited,so I figured it would not take THAT long!
After waiting that long, the wrong master cylinder came in
.

After repeated attempts to just get a refund,I used my Jedi Mind trick and got them to ship out a Brembo radial clutch master to my house for no additional charge,my guess is they wanted me out of thier hair.(Also helps to have the wife call in all pissed off,too
)

Re: What would you do ?? (04749s)

Hi Brian,

Please feel fee free to call me directly- owner Joe here. I apologize for the delay in your order. I looked it up just now. Occasionally we do run into odd delays. It sounds to me like there was a mis-understanding on the open house invitation though. Without yet asking my staff yet, my guess is that he probably suggested that if you were coming down to the open house for the parts alone and not the free hot dogs then it wouldn't be worth the trek across the bay, but no one here would not want a customer to visit us any time!

In any event, I'll send you a note off line.

Cheers,

Joe

04749s when something like this happens always try and give the business a chance to redeem themselves by talking with the manager and or owner. Tell them about your experiences and how it left a bad taste in your mouth. If they care ,which I am assume Joe does in this situation, they will do their best to make you happy. If your still not satisfied I guess flame away.

Neils996s... I did want to comment on the dealer experience you had. Tucker Rocky Distributing actually have a brilliant online ordering system that makes it very simple for dealers to track and order their items. They do offer free shipping when you order a certain amount, it's not that high. I suggest the dealer was the one at fault here and was just too cheap to order enough items to qualify for free shipping hence making you wait. Also if the item was not available the dealer would have been able to tell you right away and give you an estimate of when it would be, offering you the opportunity to cancel the order. Bottom line this was the dealers poor service and not anything to do with Tucker Rockys IMHO .
