Hey guys. I am looking for a new bike (I am keeping the RC). I just want to know what you guys ride other then the RC. Give me some sujestions I don't really care about the year or make I just want something else that I can ride on street and go to track. I was thinking of the R1, FZ1 or CBR1000. I like the GSXR but every kid has one.

call me crazy but i've been riding a 2007 cbr 600rr for the last few days and it's FANTASTIC. has an ohlins ttx, brembo master, yoyo slipper, and sato rearsets, plus gearing obviously. i'd buy one in a heartbeat as it's a nice refreshing ride after the RC. i don't have a lot of interest in the 4 banger thous, but maybe you do? take one out if you have the chance, the 600rr is a riot.

I like my 07 CBR1000RR to go with my RC! Night and day difference! Rode the CBR last night and I felt cramped until I readjusted to it again!

I also have a BMW R1200RT for the road. ;)
I am also considering either a Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 (IF I can find one) or a BMW HP2 Sport (IF second hand prices will ever drop).

I too am considering the HP2 Sport , but perhaps not , after reading that the manual schedules new pistons and rings at 48,000 KM  . This may be for raced units but still disconcerting .

In addition to my 00 RC51, I have an 06 Victory Vegas for days when I want a cruiser and don't want to look like everyone else on a harley. I also have an 02 Ducati 998 for. . . , well just because.

Basically, I can't ever see myself going back to inline fours after having twins.

Maybe consider an SV650. They are great little bikes and they do very well on street and track. Tons of mods available, If you go with a first gen carbed model, you will not likely see many others on the road. Amazing gas milaege and insurance is practically free. Not the prettiest bike ever, but you can fix that if you wanted to. I had one for years and loved it.

If you just want a good all around performer sportbike that can do it all then look for an 04-07 1000RR and slap an Ohlins shock on the rear of it...

From taking trips, to weekend warrior canyon carving to raising hell at trackdays it just does!

Sure there are better choices for racing, but just having fun especially on the racetrack, ease of maintenance and comfy riding position etc well it's really hard to beat these bikes. Mine are track only, but they make excellent street bikes as well for all the above reasons and others like a fairly good range per tank of fuel. And they can take one helluva beating if you do crash them...

I can pretty much have any new bike I want, but I am still riding my 6 year old 1000RR and have no plans to upgrade anytime soon. My wife has an 06 model and feels the same way.

The only bike I even want currently is the Honda CB1000R that we can't get here in the US so I am boycotting Honda until they get their head out of their ass.

There is rumor of a new 600SS bike from BMW and if that comes to fruition and it rates as high as the S1000RR has then I will be all over that until them though I am gonna just keep saving my pennies & riding what I've already paid for as I have been very happy with these 1000RR's once I got them set-up properly.

If you can keep up with the questionable CB1000R build quality you are a braver man than most people. :D
Nomo, the HP2 engine is really "pumped", I wouldn't be too surprised about it but will ask when I take in the RT for its service and be back at you. :)

I think the SP2 gives me enough fun to negate the need for another similar sports bike...I had a blade before, but I wouldn't want that and the SP2.
The feeling it will leave you with after a day's riding won't be all that different..

The bike I hanker after now, is a proper Supermoto.

A friend in UK (With a Factory RSV Mille, Bimota SB6R and other nice toys) has a Hussaberg 630 in his garage which he picked up inexpensively. 77 bhp, 100kg, wheelies, drifts and can lean to insane angles. It's huge fun, but being a race engine - needs a rebuild every 20 hours. Apparently it's uncomfortable to ride more than about 20 minutes but it's the most fun machine he owns.

I'd love one. Such a cool machine! :woot:

I love the cb1000r as well honda should bring it over. That is why I like the fz1. I am pretty stuck between the CBR600 or 1000, ducati 999 ( rode a friends s version last week and really liked it) or r1. Really like the New CBR almost feels like a 600 but with the power or a 1000. Never tought of the Z1000 but it is mow going on my list. Man I hate picking a new bike :banghead I have tough of the sv there cool. And to add I am sortha missing my street legal Xr650r supermoto maybe I should build a new supermoto

Have you had a chance to ask the dealer to confirm the 48Kkm top-end rebuild for the HP2S ? A couple of 08 demos (under 1500 km) have come up for sale here in Canada for $14,000 (MSRP $25,500) but I'd like to ride a BMW further than 48Kkm before tearing it apart !

I dunno why each and every one of us doesn't have at least five or six bikes, except maybe for the cash to fund it. But five decent used bikes costs less than a nicer car new, right?

Just the other day I was thinking about why folks who love riding don't have a garage (harem) full of em. If you could have a similar arrangement with five or six women, where you have a 5k-10k cash outlay, with maintenance costs of maybe a three to five hundred a year, you keep em in their own room, ready to go for a nice long ride, you ride them where and when you want  , it doesn't cost more than a decent meal to have a real good time, you get to do all the talking and make all the decisions, no crap, no emotions, no commitments - trade or sell and buy another anytime, seriously - I'd have as many as I could afford and then some. And yet, just like my RC, I'm happy with the one woman I have and couldn't see getting rid of her for any other. But, unlike having a flock of women at my disposal I CAN have more bikes. :wtf

Here's to those of you who have more bikes than I :rockon .
