I'm not so sure about that. Dovi is still improving; Pedrosa may have plateaued. I wouldn't be shocked if HRC let Pedrosa go if Stoner finishes ahead of him.Dovi should be the one worried.
They wanted to kick Dovi down to a satellite ride this year so I wouldn't expect them to promote him to Turd's slot if they can the Turd. IF Stoner was faster than Turdly this year, I'd predict HRC would can Turdly AND Dovi in favor of the latest hotshot coming out of Moto2.I wouldn't be shocked if HRC let Pedrosa go if Stoner finishes ahead of him.

They should make Moto2 like the soccer leagues. If you kick ass in the little league, you move up to the big leagues. And people like Espargaro/Kallio/Aoyama/Edwards/Bautista/Melandri would get sent down a notch. But unfortunately there are riders with no drive who get rides cuz they are fixtures in the paddock or have someone backing them.did you notice how the AMA guys tanked on the 600s, when they thought they would be the big Kahunas?...
Hey, you never know....... I thought Dovi would be a backmarker but he showed good speed.Hey, anyone wanna wager how many times Abraham gets lapped next year?:woot:
Dovi was actually COMPETITIVE on other levels. He wasn't some midpack rider with zero credentials.:wackyTHAT'S why he got a factory ride.Hey, you never know....... I thought Dovi would be a backmarker but he showed good speed.
Yeah but mid pack in the 250 class is a little different from mid pack in GP. Look at Elias. He was mid pack in GP but won Moto 2.Dovi was actually COMPETITIVE on other levels. He wasn't some midpack rider with zero credentials.:wackyTHAT'S why he got a factory ride.
My son, age 11, says no modern motogp champion who sported the #1 plate repeated the next year. I couldn't immediately think of one who did.Cool pics drsus. I wonder if Jorge will sport the #1 plate next year? I think he should.
Rossi is the only rider who has repeated since your son has been alive, so it is somewhat skewed by his dominance. My son, age 11, says no modern motogp champion who sported the #1 plate repeated the next year. I couldn't immediately think of one who did.
I'm pretty sure Doohan was the last.My son, age 11, says no modern motogp champion who sported the #1 plate repeated the next year. I couldn't immediately think of one who did.
Dovi was 2nd BEHIND LORENZO his last two years in 250s? Karel Abraham is 10th behind decent riders. Not expecting Dovi to be at least midpack is underestimating him. He gave Lorenzo a run for it.:wackyYeah but mid pack in the 250 class is a little different from mid pack in GP. Look at Elias. He was mid pack in GP but won Moto 2.
...can't really go by that. On the other hand, Stoner couldn't beat Pedrosa in 250 but spanks everyone when he's on his game in GP.
I never thought Dovi would even get a sniff of the podium this season.
"After 2 more learning years at Yamaha I will sign for Honda and win on a V4."what do you thin k Spies is telling Cal?
Reviving a very old thread to say (rather my son says) "I told you so!"My son, age 11, says no modern motogp champion who sported the #1 plate repeated the next year. I couldn't immediately think of one who did.
If he's wise, he would try and get a Honda seat."After 2 more learning years at Yamaha I will sign for Honda and win on a V4."
the streak of modern 4-stroke champs who run that plate lose it the next year.
But he never ran the #1 plate?i know of one little name racer that won two in a row....
