for those of you that never tried it, you should. i learned more about myself and my riding abilities at Pocono on Sunday, in the pouring rain, than i ever have on a dry track. granted, i was using rain tires, (serious advantage compared to those with street tires) ) but it forced me to be gentle and less jerky when it came to braking and accellerating in and out of corners. the fear element disappeared regarding crashing, letting me concentrate on my riding and hitting my marks in the corners.

it forced me to be smooth, where i was otherwise, rough around the edges.

i was also forced to get my fat arse off the seat in the corners and never rode off the edge of my tire. (rear was a 18/67-17 rain tire. pretty tall compared to a regular 180) all in all, it was a battle not to wreck my bike that worked out for the best. it was the most fun i've ever had at the track. :D
