I took my left crankcase cover off to clean out years worth of buildup from the chain that I don't think ever got clean after 17,000 miles from the previous owner. As I was cleaning the inside of the crankcase cover, the green slave cylinder gasket tore. I'm buying a new one from ronayers. I don't see anything wrong with putting it back on for the next week or so until the new one comes back in. What could I possibly damage with a small tear in this gasket?

Well, after doing a ton of reading on here about the crankcase, and clutch slave. It looks like the gasket serves at least one purpose. The only definitive one I found was that it affects the total length of the pushrod. So, sounds like I'll be fine, as long as the torn part lays flush.
