I came across a 916 frame without a title for my next project and other than buying a wrecked 9XX with a clear title then stamp that number on the new frame I'm not sure what to do come registration time. Any idea's?

Re: Title-less Frame (section8superbike)

Do they allow you to get a constructors title in Germany? Some states allow it you just need a load of receipts and they run a Vin check if you use a factory built frame.

Re: Title-less Frame (bruntr)

do you still need a title for the frame? i have a wrecked 748 frame with a clean title, if you were intrested, i would sell you the title, as well as the frame (you could keep it or destroy it). it is a clean title. let me know. thanks

Re: Title-less Frame (bruntr)

In several states (Illinois, Arizona, etc), their law's definition of a stolen motorcycle is a bike being held by a person who is not in current possession of the title, or any motor vehicle without a VIN. Dunno about Germany, you should check.

Re: Title-less Frame (Shazaam!)

In NC, you take the completed bike along with a pile of reciepts to the local LEO & after passing the "it's not stolen" test, DMV titles it.
