Gary, methinks those are not Termignonis. The end cap, end cap strap, exhaust outlets and the fact that the cans slip on to the pipes tell me those are most definitely not Termignoni. I'm not trying to be an ass, just pointing out the obvious. If I'm wrong, my apologies.

I am not an expert on exhaust system, but those stickers for sure are Termi's.

Re: (erik996)

Sorry guys. Didn't mean to misrepresent the exhaust.

It came on a '98 748 I bought this summer and was advertised as a real Termignoni system.

Re:

Got a question for you guys.

This system was probably purchased in 1999 (2 owners ago)

The hangers were a perfect match to the Termi half system I just put on. Except for the joint at the silencer, the cans seem to be almost identical in appearance to the half system I put on (except the band on this system is continous where it's rivited).

Did Termi ever change their design through the years? If not, what gives this away as a non-Termi system?

From the pictures, there appear to be four distinct things that tell me it's not a true pair of Termignoni slip ons.

First, the section of pipe that runs between the canister and the mid-pipe is welded on the Termi, and your pictures show a slip on fit with springs.

Second, the metal bands/straps that wrap around the ends of the canisters are not the same style as Termignoni. Termi bands are not solid.

Third, the end cap is polished and not flat, whereas the Termi end cap is not typically polished and is flat (the ones pictured have a ridge near the outer edge).

Fourth, the exhaust outlets on Termi slip ons have a rolled edge, not straight edge. The exhaust outlets pictured also curve downward slightly, which is not the same as the Termi.

I've seen the ones you have, but can't recall the brand. I looked at Marving, Gianelli, Sil Motor, Two Brothers, Scorpion, etc.... and can't find the right one.

Re: (erik996)

Thanks for the info.

Looks like the last owner pulled one on me.

If anyone is interested in a whatever system this is, with the carbon heatshield (real DP - I bought it) for say $130 plus shipping let me know.
