I have the following shocks for sale:

Ohlins - Brand new from a 2005 749R. 0 miles, removed as soon as the bike was uncrated. Fits all 749/999 with the newer-style swingarm. $500

Penske - From my 2002 998 racebike. Setup for my weight (200 lb) and riding style (expert racer). Two years old, serviced prior to the 2004 season by Penske. Fits all 748/916/996/998. $600

Ohlins - From a 2002 998 streetbike. Removed from my 998 prior to track use. Less than 4k street miles. Fits all 748/916/996/998. $400

I would like to know what the difference is between the shocks for the two swingarms for the 749. When I looked at Ohlins website, they listed the same part number for the two. If the shock will fit a 2004 749S, I am interested.

Holy cow, Martin, you sent me an e-mail less than 24 hours ago -- give a guy a chance, huh?!?!?!!!!

The shock came from my '05 749R with the new-style swingarm. The Ohlins race technician I work with said the shock would fit any 749/999 with the new-style swingarm. I don't know if it will fit the 749/999 with the older-style swingarm, as I didn't ask. If you're looking at an Ohlins fitament guide that shows they're the same, then I'd guess they probably are.
