Street leathers?

I was at Motomarket (local Boston reference) and tried on a pair of IXS "David" leather pants that fit me like a glove. The only problem is they were solid, meaning non-perforated. Yeah, yeah, yeah I can hear the arguments already that sweat is better than road rash, but I know that if these are stifling to wear in the humid summer season we have I won't wear them. So I am looking for a perforated leather street pant. I don't need pucks but would like some knee protection. I also don't want to break the bank: read as Vanson. Any suggestions?

Oh, I am also a funny fit, 37X30 or so depending on season (smaller by the fall before I tack on "tax season" weight).

Nick ..you get what you pay for. I have had Vanson leather pants for 8 years. They are heavy but at the same time extremely durable. On the 996 they actually keep me cooler in the summer because they insulate my right thigh from the engine heat

Ian, do you have the perforated or solid leather?

Vanson was my first thought since they would zip right to my jackets. I do have a set of Vanson's mesh "Vent" pants which are not nearly as nice as their Vent jacket which has leather in the abrasion areas under the Cordura shell plus plenty of breathing. The Vent pants seem like an afterthought.

for about the same price as Vanson..look into Syed leathers...I love mine and they were not that bad.

Check these guys: http://www.topendz.com

They have the RST leathers, very nice stuff.

I'm pretty sure that all the prices listed on their site are in Canadian dollars.

Vanson is most likely the best leathers I have ever had period. Very comfortable, and extremely durable. I had a low side at about 80 a few years back and I actually polished out the abrasions from my Vansons. I would never buy anything but Vansons for the street.

But the integrity of the leather probably was not the same? Maybe thinner?

FWIW...I have a set of Vanson Perforated leathers for the street and I think they are great leathers. I just sold the pants here and will be buying another pair; I believe the main store in Ma is having a sale around April 23 if your interested. It probably best to call and find out exactly when.
Thought I would pass on what they told me.
