How does the countershaft on a 749 attach? Does it screw to that retaining plate which fits in a little groove on the shaft, like other bikes? The rear sproket just attaches to the wheel carrier right?

I was gonna do a 520 swap but someone mentioned when you do this the front sproket actually moves 'outboard' a little and the rear moves 'inboard' a little, due to the thinner sprokets. Thus putting the alignment slightly out of whack. Actually makes sense to me but wanted to make sure and see if it's worth messing with. Gonna change the rear sproket anyways, so I'll need a new chain anyways. Thought I'd throw in the few extra bucks and go on and get a front sproket.
