but time will only tell whether the welfare state has hooked enough addicts for them to turn out to vote...

I don't care what party they are as long as they don't pose a theocracy threat, won't make abortion illegal, aren't sucking dicks at the airport, and don't have a last name that starts with a B. Other than that I'm just going anti-incumbant.

A LOT of people are going non incumbent. Primarily as Americans, few follow the voting records of these people. Unfortunately some good ones will get the ax but it will send a message that will go unheeded and it's just going to be a backlash year for the public. And in the big picture we'll just elect a new bunch of the same old sanctimonious self serving politicians.
