electrical problem that took about a week to trace, was either from the vibes or previous owner incorrectly routing wires, caused the insulation to rub off and ground out in a few places... really no fun tryin to find it...

She stalled on me once

During a track at TWS, she stalled and wouldn't start...

Phukkin' PCIII went out... apparently this is common according to my mechanic and the only RC interface on the market... replaced and mapped... all is well.

The only major problem that I have every time I ride with this bike is it is always wanting fuel so that it can be ridden longer. It's like a woman that constantly wants sex from me, I can only give out so much then I have to stop :D. I'm no robot or atm machine (unless I take a bottle of viagra or use the credit card) .

The only issues I have are comfort, ride on rough roads and fuel range. Runs like an atomic clock.

Only problem ive had is a loose battery connection which almost turned into a big problem when the bike stalled at 80 and the ugly tail, but both are fixed now!

One minor problem

I had an intermitent electrical failure, I searched here and asked, the answers ranged from put pipes, to listen closely sonny.

The previous owner mounted a relay switch upside down under the rear cowl, some water got into the relay and it faulted.
Clean and dried out relay and mount it right side up, no problems.

ps: those darn tires just keep wearing out, anyone have a easy fix for that problem?

I haven't had mine for very long, but on the one sunday that I did take it out, the only bad thing that happened was I blew a fuse (shorting to ground). But then again, it's not Honda's fault, just the previous owners couldn't splice wires properly or route harnesses correctly.:banghead

FWIW, electrical tape is not a splice:wtf, in order to splice properly, one needs a crimp splice or solder and heat shrink.

Oil changed every 1k? Lemme have your old stuff for my pimping '84 civic dx. I drive it 15 miles to work and back every day and haven't changed the oil in about a year.:woot:

My first RC had zero problems. Had about 9k on the clock and was a 2000 model. Stolen and still bitter about it.

My current RC, a 2002 model, just had a ignition converter go bad about two weeks ago. It has about 6k miles as well. Bought one from terrag here on the board (thanks Garrett) and she's howlin' once again! I think Honda just got a bad batch of CDI's. A wire harness came off during riding, coincedentally not too long before the CDI went out. Hmmm....maybe it was a spike in voltage when the plug came loose that caused the CDI to go bad.

Had a Superhawk, a 2000 model, and it never gave me any problems after about 8k miles of ownership. Had to get a new chain for it, but that's about it. Sold it to get a VFR.

My VFR, a 2004 model currently at 30k, had a front cam chain tensioner go bad at about 24k miles. Need to get the wire harness recall taken care of, but it still does everything well...and with comfort!

Guess I'm just a Honda guy when it comes to bikes. First bike was a FZ6 and it had TPS issues. Sold it pretty much immediately for my safety. I think Yamaha worked out the bug in that one.

I'm really happy with the VFR/RC combo setup, although a 1000rr would be nice.....hmmmm
