Could it be possible that Rossi let Lorenzo go just for the sake of not risking a crash and further injuries this season? He had second wrapped up, and what's to fight for anyway, after all, the championship is already won? Letting jorge lull himself into a false sense of superiority, just to crush him later on the new red bike? Could it be so?... :D

I don't think trading paint at 200 mph qualifies as sandbagging, although Vale may be telling himself that right now......

I doubt that Vale EVER sandbags!!!
it's pretty well known that throughout his career he has let people by just to study them. If you don't want to call that sand bagging I can get behind that.

HE DIDN'T HAVE 2ND WRAPPED UP!!!!!!!!!! He rode his ass off and played dirty to get 2nd thanks to many DNF's by Stoner at critical moments. Pedrosa problems too

Rossi got flatout SMOKED! Plain and simple! The faster rider won! Although if you see things through Rosy colored glasses you may have seen that his team had the setup wrong, they didn't put enough fuel in his tank and he had to conserve, Lorenzo stole his setup through the wall or all kinds of other problems that weren't his fault at all.:woot:

The dude got dominated, there's nothing to debate unfortunately.

He better bring the heat with that Ducati.

Now way he was sand bagging. I'm sure he was trying to pull from the moment he got in first. I'm also sure that after he saw Horgays pace he backed off enough to keep second place though.

Horgay was faster, he had the better set up obviously. Any of the top 5 guys can hand out ass whoopings if they have a perfect set up and can push 100%.

We can only speculate about what Rossi was thinking and what his bike was doing. I remember seeing a quick shot of him having a moment where he almost high sided, but he was able to recover and continue.

Excellent race by Lorenzo to be the class of the field.

If there is one thing that I have learned about Rossi it is to never, never underestimate him. Ever.

Lolly was simply faster than Rossi on the day, as he has been for much of the season. Rossi would never let Lolly win unless he simply had no counter on the day.

Rossi proved his class and speed (yet again) the previous race, when he DEMOLISHED two-thirds of the riders to win...passing every fast guy out there, easily.

But Lolly.....is magnificent, and given identical equipment, I'm 100% certain that he is at least as fast as Rossi, or faster. Whether he has the long-term mental toughness and gamesmanship needed to continue to be the class of the field ofr years to come, remains to be seen. I have only seen 1 little ***** so far....in a very good season for him, when he traded blows with Rossi with Championship still up for grabs. That could have been a disaster for him, but it's the only time I recall seeing a (slight) mental lapse. Even then...it happens to most top riders, including Rossi.

Are we to assume that Rossi is fully recovered from his injuries ?! He broke his fuking leg , not a hangnail , early in the season and he still might finish second in the championship . I have no doubt that Spies (let alone Rossi) will make Jorge crack next season . That factory M1 is so easy to ride that even Jaime would kiss Vale for developing it  .
