Donald gets the GSV-R 800 up to 202mph, the fastest recorded top speed
of the whole event

Rizla Suzuki brought the 2010 Isle of Man TT to an exciting close as
Cameron Donald gave the manufacturer's GSV-R MotoGP machine a run out
around the infamous island course.

As part of Suzuki's 50th anniversary celebrations, the MotoGP team and
its rider Loris Capirossi took a trip to the race to participate in
bringing the curtain down on this year's event.

While Capirossi would take to Suzuki's GSX-R1000 to sample a lap of
the 37.73 mile course, TT specialist Cameron Donald was given the
chance to ride the MotoGP machine in front of the crowds.

Although determined not to push too hard, Donald was still able to get
the bike up to 202mph down the Sulby straight, thus recording the
highest top speed of the whole event.

"Man, that was just amazing,” said Donald. “I thought the bike would
be really difficult and twitchy to ride, but it was great. I was
expecting to ride a steady lap, but it was so good that I was able to
get a great rhythm going and pick up a fast pace.

“In fact, it was so good, I reckon we need to get some regulation
changes for next year, as this thing with a few more laps on it, would
really fly here."

Capirossi, meanwhile, was bowled over by the uniqueness of the TT
course, declaring the event as 'simply amazing'

"This place is incredible. I've seen the TV footage before, but
nothing prepares you for the TT course. The surface is much bumpier
than I imagined and when you see the speeds that these guys run at, it
is simply amazing. It's a fantastic event that you could never
replicate anywhere else in the world."

(Isn't about time Suzuki retire the old GSXR and start producing the GSVR???)

Now it they could only make it handle like an I4 Yamaha perhaps they could get closer to a podium in MotoGP, maybe even win a race (ok, totally unrealistic I know, but one can dream, no?). Until then, bring on the dyno drags... woohoo!!!! V4s forever!!!!!

At least the Rizla Suzuki has broken some record aside from the number of engine changes in a race weekend...

I thought it was a fun move by Suzuki to support the IOM TT. I know it'll never happen, but it would be cool to see the 5 MotoGP bikes out there racing over the entire circuit...
