Re: Rim Stealth (2vtwin)

Yeah, you should post a link or something. First it was gold rims, then CF, now you want stealth ones?

Re: Rim Stealth (Stick in Va)

Sorry, fat fingers , here is the link

http://www.tapeworks.com/RimSt....html

Well, I'm still looking at options, saw a set of gold wheels on a red bike and did not like it.

Then I saw some red wheels on the Fila replica at the DC show, with white pinstripe and that gave me the idea.

Re: Rim Stealth (2vtwin)

I have been to the site a few time, IMHO the stripes they provide are way to wide. The Fila stripes are very thin, and look pretty nice. I just did a set of gloss black 5 spokers with red about 1/4 " wide, to me thats about as wide as I would want to go. I'll send you a pic if you want.

i bought a pack of the multi-color plumbers tape. i think it was .99 for red/green/blue/white/yellow. i used the red on my black rims and it looks awesome. (imho).
i used clear nail polish over the area where the ends of the tape meets. so far it has held up to 135mph.

I think the idea is that they are not just rim tapes but also reflective for safety reasons. I'm interested in the roll of black tape (will not show on black rims but will light up at night).

Is the plumber's tape you used reflective at night?

i found the triples on e-bay. a guy in Italy makes them. here is his e-mail: [email protected]
his english is a little weak but i had my Italian/English translation dictionary handy and we got it done.
i think they where like 300 bucks. they went right on, no problems at all.

Re: Rim Stealth (Stick in Va)

And by the way Stick, when are you going to do some Mods to that ST3? Going into second riding season, adding the bagster system doesn't count, how about some CF stuff.

Re: Rim Stealth (2vtwin)

I'm just a poor gummint working stiff, not a rich guy like you. Oh and the new motorcycle I'm buying will suck up most of my free cash. I'll add a piece here, a piece there, vented clutch cover, some new functional bit's such as clutch slave cylinder, upgrade the brake system. I don't want to be one of those guys that adds a whole bunch of CF bling just because they can. In it's own crack like way, it's somewaht gaudy and overdone if you do too much.
