The reason I ask, is I have a mid 80's xl600 at my disposal. My brother who owns it installed the offroad suspension from some other bike. I can't remember the specifics but the triple clamps, larger forks, and rear susp and aluminum swingarm are from another bike (was the xr the offroad and xl the onroad?).

I'd like to start a supermoto project but the price of wheels (not to mention getting ones that fit) seem prohibitive. So I was wondering if it's possible to get a 17" rim and relace the front? If so where would I find a dealer? Could any rim that had the right number of spoke holes work? granted in the proper width.

Re: relacing stock hubs for 17" rims? (clappedoutkawi)

Absolutely.

I race on aftermarket rims laced to the stock hubs.
