Just got back from Indy and heard this news. I am so shocked and saddened, as I was watching the Moriwaki warm up and heard that he went down but never got any impression that it was even serious. God Bless him and his family!
I agree, which is hard for me as I was racing karts at this age. I think that maybe children should be kept on karting tracks until they are 16. A twelve year old body is not prepared to take the hit that an older teenager would be able to take.
I don't agree. Everyone reaches physical maturity at different ages. The body of a 13 yo is typically no where near the level of, say, a 19 yo in terms of both bone strength and muscle mass and can't withstand the same amount of blunt force trauma.
