I have been over at Alex Ortners shop for the last week working on our "Prp Street" Monster. We have been working on the basic Architecture. This is not the finished product. We still need paint, powdercoating, annodizing, etc. We will also be adding a 998RS radiator when it comes in.

I am attempting to make the baddest ass street Monster out there. A Detroit muscle car look if you will. I also intended for it to be over the top and figured some people will hate it. But I didn't think my partner Bill would hate it
Actualy he hates the tail. Of course the first comment out of everyones mouth is that it looks "tacked on", and I agree. But that is what I wanted it to look like.

When judging the tail keep in mind the radiator will be massive, and therefore "balance" the bike out. But I want everyones opinion on what they think of the bike, it's "look" and the tail.

A quick rundown of the changes:

7" wide Marchesini 10 spoke with 210mm tire
2" over swingarm
Custom exhaust
Custom triples
Custom tail (no kidding)
Slammed 2.5"
Cycle Cat bars
Cycle Cat rearsets
STM rear sprocket
Brembo GP masters
bla, bla, bla
NOS

I also need someone who is giood a Photochop to try some paint ideas out for me if they have time.

Re: Opinion Time (section8superbike)

fugly tail, but not as ugly as the rad...

i love the look of that exhaust though...

and add a spinner on the rear if you are looking for over the top

Re: (infoage1)

even visualizing the massive R radiator, i gotta say i hate the tail. but i haven't voted yet cuz i'd like to see a pic of the left side of the bike to see if the exhaust plumbing "works" and if the swingarm looks odd at +2". interesting NOS placement for "in your face"...

another comment about the tail... i think one of the reasons it just doesn't suit the bike (in my oppinion) is the hard angles chosen. none of the monster's bodywork has any hard angles. if you rounded out the angles and made the unit look a bit more "organic", maybe it would match better.

Re: (s4strati)

The biggest problem I have with the tail is that it's square. Everything else on the bike is rounded and flows, but then the tail is angle cut and square... blows the lines.
Otherwise, it looks great, and I think it seals the deal in my mind about what rims I want!

Sure did, want to buy them? We are thinking of making a second gen version where the clamps for the NOS bottles are built into the clamps (a pentaclamp if you will) and putting 4 deg of rake in it.

Re: (section8superbike)

Understanding that this is a styling exercise (vice something I would buy), I think it came out pretty good. I think you will have a problem with the superbike radiator, as that already looks like an awful tight fit. The tail can be smoothed a bit (see above comments re: square tail v. rounded bike) to flow a bit better, but I think I agree that (if you manage to fit it in), the radiator's size will compensate for the increased size of the tail.

That exhaust rocks!

I am assuming that the swingarm will be cleaned up for final "show" presentation?

The motor is not going to like use of the NOS for too long; just my
on that issue.

I would also be interested in a set of triple clamps, sans the NOS mounts, for my '02 MS4. I've seen the Cycle Cat top triple, but am interested in the entire set.

Good luck!

looks like .....well,......ass

Ok I said it.

Damn nice collection of parts.

What is up with the bubble gum welds on the swingarm?

So is this a drag bike?

It sure looks like it will drag alot of parts around a corner.

At least you have the fortitude to try something different.

I would stare at it, (that is what you are going for right?)

Re: (El Gladiateur)

Since you asked, maybe you could substitute a hidden radiator or 2 more exhaust pipes where the (god alwful) tail is. I'd also paint the swingarm to match the frame, & get rid of the belt guards.

Enough said regarding the tail. About those pipes, you know they are not worth squat in terms of performance unless you do some serious internal mods. Talk to Jeff at Ducati Austin. Looks are one thing, looks with something that actually works is sometrhing else. Just a thought.

Re: Opinion Time (section8superbike)

Not sure what the "point" of the tail is - except to say, "Yup, it's got a tail and it's right there". It looks like that crappy add-on piece to the otherwise nice looking Ducati/MV that Alex put together. I think someone with some fiberglas experience should be involved in the bodywork.

To Alex, I would say "if that's your style (origami), maybe you should switch to working with KTM's".

If you're going for "over the top", get rid of the two coffee cans in front of the rear tire and run straight pipes. Or....maybe I should sketch something up today at work....

I think Paul, Jr. could make you a better exhaust......and I'd give Mikey the tail section to work on.

Re: Opinion Time (section8superbike)

see above comments on the tail....

if you're looking for a new direction in tails have you looked at stickin a radiator back there? obviously not as effective as up front but Benelli seem to get away with putting theirs back their on their TRE. Then, you've got a reason to build a fat ass... but big for the sake of big will always look a little off IMHO.

it's easy for us to play monday morning QB but i applaud the work. i'm sure it's going to spawn alot of ideas around here.
