MotoGP Notes: Chris Vermeulen Gets The Call?
by julian ryder
Tuesday, September 20, 2005 Honda rider Marco Melandri is definitely out of Malaysia with 30 stitches in his heel. The good news is that he should be back for Qatar.

Troy Bayliss' arm injury sounds unusually bad with a total of twenty screws used to repair it. Will Troy ride again this year?

Usually reliable sources say that Chris Vermeulen will ride
Bayliss's Camel Honda for the last three rounds of the MotoGP season (the World Superbike seaosn will have ended then).

The young Aussie would therefore start at his home track in Phillip Island, go to Turkey where no-one has raced before and finish at Valencia—where he has raced on Superbikes.

I hope Chris gets this and does well.

Thought Shakey Shane Byrne had been named to ride the Camel Honda in the next two races?
He is, but he'll be riding for the injured Bayliss.

Who would take Chris V's place for the remaining WSBK events?

Oh I see, Shakey's only on 'til Troy come back but Chris V may be on for the rest of the season to take Melandri's place?
