No headlights and wont start, why?

I havent been able to look at it yet, hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
2003 rc51, flush mount signals, hotbodies under tail, all stock electronics, not flapperd or pair.
Today I put the upper back on it, the wires fought me, after getting it together rode it around for about 10miles with the high beam on, no problems. Tonight, started it up turned the high beam off about 1/2mile down the road the head lite flickered off then on, then no head lights, just signals and brake lights.
The fuel pump primes, and it will run off a bump (push) start, just nothing when I hit the button.
Thanks for the help

don't know if this helps, but -- The main fuse for your headlights must be good for the bike to start, at least on an 2000 sp1. I once went to pull the fuse for the lights before a track day and found out that the bike would crank but would not start without the fuse in.
I hoping its a bad fuse, mine wont even crank.

From first hand experience, a blown headlight bulb and fuse prevented my bike from even cranking.
i think it the fuse, but i cant find it :banghead please help
