Maybe someone swung their purse during the race and hit Fabio on the arm? Never liked him but that sounds like a pretty hard hit to make it swell.

Haga

Haga had a seagull hit him in the right bicep on the run into the Parabolica at Monza.

Haga reached for the brakes and promptly crashed because he could not feel or do anything with his right hand/arm.

We used to get numerous seagull strikes at Brainerd. Always on the warmup lap because the birds were used to getting out the way of cars on the highway. Twice the speed and you were mowing them down and hopefully not crashing.

hit a crow with my shoulder bout two years ago. maybe 80mph. it was a pretty good thump. had it hit my arm, I have no doubt it would have caused some problems.
