Sorry, probably an overkilled subject. Need to replace my Michilin H2 tires (awesome tires) on my 2000 996. Since H2 is discontinued I don't think the Power Races are suitable for my riding (street with several track days a year). I've read good things about the M Powers, did search for info but didn't find any comments from anyone who went from the H2's to Powers. Looking for first hand inputs on street and track comparisons. Thanks all.

Re: Michelin H2 Vs Michilin Power (twngunz)

You used the H2's on the street? I've only used them on the trac with wonderful results. How was the street riding?

Re: Michelin H2 Vs Michilin Power (YellowDesmo998)

Not gonna do that again, they worked great keeping in mind the long warm up time. Great grip on hard twisty riding in the summer, during the cold days different story, naturally since not track riding, couldn't get them to operating tempratures. Wouldn't recommend for the street rider if tire life is a concern, chewed center down @ 3800 miles (then again, here in northern Florida a majority of the roads are staight).

Thats why Powers are next for me, would like some tire left for street riding after track days. The H2's worked awesome for me on the track as well. Have you used Powers on track days also? If so whats your inputs on the Powers vs H2's? Thanks

Re: Michelin H2 Vs Michilin Power (twngunz)

I've never used the powers, sorry. My experience on the H2's are also drastically different from my experience with Diablo Corsa's. The H2's are on the 998 and the DC's are on the R6. For their application, they both inspire confidence. Although I can say the H2's seemed to fall off a bit faster then the DC's. I felt some sliding after two track days on the H2's. The DC's have been very linier in their traction after the same amount of time.

Now I have some H2/M2's to try on the R6 in the up coming weeks at the track. I'll have a better comparison then of the DC's and the H2's soon.

But once again, no experience with the Powers. Check the WERA forums. There is allot of talk about them lately.

Re: Michelin H2 Vs Michilin Power (twngunz)

Comparing the S2/M2s (same as H2s but different compounds) to the Power Races (I believe they're the same profile as the Pilot Power) on my GSXR, the main thing I noticed was the profile and ride height difference - the S2/H2/M2 fronts are a lot steeper on the edge and a lot taller, and the rears are the same or a bit shorter, so mounting the Powers raises the back and lowers the front. This made the bike twitchy, but after compensating it felt fine. Turn-in feels a bit better and more stable with the Power Races, grip is great even when they're really worn, and they supposedly warm up more quickly.

Re: Michelin H2 Vs Michilin Power (JeffKoch)

I remeber going from the old Pilots to the H2's, back when H2's first came out. It also required a little adjustment with the H2's more agressive profiles. I figure I'll give the Powers a shot. Thanks for the inputs guys.

YellowDesmo998-- I'm curious to hear what your comparison of the DC's to the H2's will be when you get to burn-n-turn them
. Please post when you get a chance.
