That was great, just what I needed too after being stuck behind a desk since January.

I gotta say that the Brits have THE BEST vehicle journalism in general and further the best bike mags, so much so that it makes our rags look like just that. I buy the US mags because there is little else out there to feed my hunger for anything moto, but these can't stand up to "Two Wheels", "Performance Bikes" and the rest even on their best day. Very cool in every regard and the writing is straight-up and tells you what you are looking for, not the advertising BS that they are fed by the OEMs. Just look at how the Fifth Gear (a great show as well!) journalist was dressed to thrash that Lambo: leather jacket and no helmet...AWESOME!

I co-sign! The British automotive press makes our publishing and reporting look sophmorish. I regularly grab a copy of "Car" whenever possible. It's beautifully written with fashion-photograhy level photography, and put together in a way that genuinely makes you want to re-read the articles months later.

The best part - the criticisms, reviews, and reporting are objective and substantive. Not this fluff reporting we get with C&D, Motortrend and the like.

Also, Auto Motor and Sport, produced in Germany by DW TV is a fantastic car show! It's usually carried on local PBS stations - try TiVo and search by title if you can't find it.

Tiff Needell, 5th gears resident ace, is a pretty fine driver. He made at least one F1 start, raced Aston-Martins and Porsche's. There was a great 5th Gear where he drove the Enzo on Ferrari's test track. He was fasted journalist, and with only 12 laps was about 4 seconds off of the Ferrari test drivers lap record in the enzo. So that 999 had some tough competition....

5th Gear rocks, thank god for TiVo. My 13 month old digs the theme song....
