KTM, What a disapointment!

It never made a lot of sense to spend that kind of money for several reasons:
1) The AMA/DMG series sucks with small attendance and generally crappy TV coverage.
2) The sponsor would only get a few seconds TV per race because it isn't like the KTM will be winning races.
3) KTM would never cover the cost because their streetbikes don't seem to sell in big quantities. Marketing to sell 1500 bikes with racing, instead of 1000 annually without doesn't seem justifiable.
KTM has become almost mainstream in the dirt world (it really is the Big 5 with Japan Inc and KTM), but their streetbikes never seem to have caught on. On pavement they remain a very niche manufacturer.

Last pole position ever taken by a 2T GP bike was Danny Webb on the Mahindra. And Mahindra is campaigning a 4T 250 GP bike in Moto3 next year. Some Indians care.Indians don't care about racing. Won't be long before they pull the plug on the dirt side of things too.

Where did he finish? The Mahindra was in the gravel being pushed more often then not last year. Danny Webb had more mechanicals than anyone else.
And that's for a machine that has been used in GPs for ages and is pretty damn reliable. Schrotter (who finished higher than Webb) and Webb combined for 21 races with zero points.

Associating yourself with the downward spiral of AMA is just financial suicide. No matter what side you're on. Sponsor, racer, team manager, track owner...........Seems like anything associated with the AMA is a wash
