I really hate to admit it, but I kinda like them!! In fact, I just bid on them!! Now that I have my SS800, I am becoming a little bit of a Ducati poser, but I'm damn proud of it!! I've wanted that bike for a long time!. I'm sure once I have owned it for a while, my poser tendancies will die down a little.

Jimmy's actually a really nice guy. I've known him for about 6 years, and he's been nothing but hospitable to me. During BMW meets/dinners with friends, he's been known to quietly slip off and pay the whole bill without letting anyone know.

Oh, and he may pamper his Duc but believe me, he can ride.

if you bid, make sure you get one that has the correct logo printed on it- there was never a lower case "corse" logo. Somebody, however, uploaded one to Brands of the World and It appears that's where that logo was sourced. Make sure you get the real deal

I'm sure he's a perfectly nice guy. But why is he SO hung up on trying to impress people with all his expensive stuff?

You'd never know it. All we ever see is pictures of his freshly waxed bike and virgin tires. How can you "pamper" your bike (and especially your tires), and still "ride"?

Actually he hasn't bought any of our CF. I knew him from before I was in this business, and I gave it to him, so I guess I'm as biased as a friend would be.

Jimmy's website is his self expression of pride for what he owns, and participating on message boards to "show off" his stuff, isn't to shove it in people's faces - it's more of "We own the best motorcycle, car, XYZ out there, here's mine" (note the "we"). I think the way he comes off to some people is different from how he intends.

As far as his riding abilities - he's ridden for 10 years, and tracked his pre-Duc bikes. I know he's got the most pampered Duc here (Except for Mental's new 998), but we're also talking about a guy who has different sets of wheels for different occasions - and so for a "best shot" picture, he put the ones with brand new or nearly new tires on. He is very meticulous about his bike - in fact, when I borrowed it for the Long Beach show in 2003 and put a scuff in the fairing - he had the whole thing repainted.

And yes, SP3 - dinners. We meet up somewhere, get lunch, go on a 75 mile canyon drive, and those of us who are single or have cool wives will turn it into dinner. I know the NorCal guys do this too.

I'm only defending him because he's paying me to. WTF's the big deal?

There is a big difference b/w lightly poking fun at someone based on their previous posts, which is not meant as a personnal attack at all on jimmy, and calling people assholes in a language that isn't their own, talk about a cowardly attack. So I say to you: siete un hypocrite! Couldn't get the Perche non fate altri cosi ? to translate, something about fairies. I don't know maybe you were refering to the posts made by others, the topic was just meant as a jib which if you have any friends at all you should be accustom to. What?, do you and your friends sit around hugging and complimenting each other on your shoes? And lastly I think jimmy has made fun of plenty of people in his time(check his website, which I totally agree about riceburners) and he has proven the ability to take jib and stick up for himself. Mostly using statements like, to quote jimmy,: "Don't hate the player, hate your lack of status in the game." See that is how it works, someone takes a light hearted jib at you and you get them right back. All in good fun.
