How can I tell/verify that this bike is a 2001 748s?

Im looking at this bike that's a 2001 748s. I just want to make sure that this is the real deal before I buy. If you can tell me ways of truly finding out its a 2001 748s it would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes it's that style. Which I know is a 748s styling. I just want to make sure its one. Is there any way by telling by the VIN or something on the title?

that is a picture of an 02... The 2001 "S" model will have 5 spoke wheels along with Zeus fastners on the fairing panels. Adjustable steering head and gold TiN coating on the front forks are also indicators..

the best way is to look for the adjustable steering head angle. a person can upgrade to "s" suspension and 5 spokes but they have to change the frame to get the adjustable steering head.

btw, the title says '02 but your post is regarding an '01. iirc, for the "s" model the only difference between the two years would be bodywork anyways.

ive got a 748s 2002 grey with 5 spoke red wheels, 834 miles, termi exhaust, no time to ride $9650.00 obo 270-779-3447

VIN number for sure! Just go to http://www.ducati.com and the contact form and send them the VIN and ask what bike it is.
