I mean at least it's not a kawi...

Just Kidding Nate.

The RC213Vs is a joke of a bike to even market. but it will definitely sell to collectors for the "look"
No carbon brakes
No advanced electronics
No magnesium bits
No chassis adjustability

And it gets smoked by any modern 600.

WTF Honda!!

It's now official: Honda has jumped the shark once and for all.

How do they expect this bike, which is really nothing more than the motorcycle equivalent of a collectible action figure (never remove from box), and the clueless Africa Twin to turn things around?

Both bikes are cases of a mountain giving birth to a vole. They were hyped to the Moon and back not for months but for years and when they arrived... yeah, right.
In the meantime Yamaha has proceeded to beat Honda almost everywhere, even where it matters the most: budget bikes. The MT07 is literally slaughtering the NC family in sales and if one takes into account the MT09 as well it's a downright catastrophe.
The only place where Honda still holds sway are small displacement scooters. Quite a success given margins are so minuscule you need a microscope to spot them, and achieved by keeping prices in line with their Chinese competitors.

At this point Honda should simply leave Western markets to those still interested into them and concentrate on building C90's and CG125's for emerging markets: at least those are well proven, decades old concepts that will sell well so long as Honda resist the temptation to cheapen them too much.

looks like a race bike. didnt see many rc30 or rc45 on the streets, but they were used in superbike racing. the price is in line with what they used to sell hrc production race bikes for. expect to see this thing in world superbike next year, provided they meet homoligation.

They won't race it in WSBK. Price limit for the machines are 40K Euros, and need a minimum of 125 to start racing, with 250 completed machines by June IIRC and 1000 to race next year.

Bimota got special dispensation for the BB3 and was able to race about half of last year without actually building the minimums, but for no points. Usually Badovini was around 10th place most races on the bike.

Honda will not bui,d enough of these to meet homologation,

HOWEVER. This does not mean there cannot be another V4 Honda racer, possibly right around the corner. A cheaper version of this bike. You could take tens of thousands of dollars of many of its sub-assemblies if you wanted to make this an actual volume model. If Aprilia and make a competitive and profitable V4 that in the mid $20k range, Honda sure as hell could too.

From what I've heard Honda has already pulled the plug on SBK racing. Present efforts are backed by local Honda affiliates, with little or no support from HRC: Honda Europe pays Cosworth to back the faltering Ten Kate outfit and that's about it.

I know that Honda's support of production racing has waned in the past several years. Th CBR has basically been noncompetitive for about 5 years now, and I'm talking worldwide. When is the last time that Yamaha and Kawasaki have had better race bike than Honda at the same time? Those ZX10's in super stock trim are cleaning up all over Europe. Does anyone know why the RC30 and RC45 were built? Strictly for racing, right? The HP numbers and the kits that they offer are really weird if they aren't intended to be in the hands of a race team. That engine has to be capable of close to 200hp but they restrict it to less than what a 600 makes???

Honda RC213V-S Meta Review: It's Worth $184,000

Of course they tested it with all the upgrades.

One guy commented that you could get three Desmosedici's for the same price.
Rags are becoming an embarrassment pure and simple.
Either that or Honda is holding the writers' families hostage... :wink2:

For that price you can have seven R1M (Euro version is not restricted and makes around 205hp, so no need for a power-up kit that will void your warranty) and still have some money left.
