I will say that I think GoDaddy replacing the content with a banner facilitates this kind of activity.
The guy wouldn't have known if GoDaddy hadn't alerted him.
Also, does your web host have the authority to replace your content with their own, while your domain is still yours?
They don't care because they got an $80 sale out of it.

Look, I dislike cops just as much as the rest of us. As far as I'm concerned the majority of them were bully douchebags in school and need the power of a gun on their hip to satisfy their f'ed up egos as adults.
