hey gang,
i jumped on what looked like a great deal on a 996's swingarm assembly here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...82700

bought with "buy it now" and paid within minutes. this was on the 19th and i've recieved zero communication from the seller to date. i'm trying to be patient because some folks just box up and ship and aren't that on top of their emails. but looking now, the seller is no longer a registerred user on eBay so i'm wonderring if i've been had.

anybody familiar with this seller by chance? "[email protected]"? emails i've sent attempting to request shipping status have come back bounced. according to paypal, the account is owned by a Nicholas Davies in Los Angeles. feedback looked good until this round of 996 parts got "sold"...

Boy, this doesn't look good at all. He really stung the poor guy on the wheels, don't get me wrong I would be hot over $150 too, but sheeeeesh he appears to be a piece of shit. I would say unless someone on here in LA knows the guy (remote chance at best) and would give him a visit, you're probably stung. Hope there is a good ending though.

Re: help requested for eBay auction... anybody know this seller ... (Phil 998)

it's only been 8 days so i don't want to jump to conclusions quite yet. i guess the "nice" thing is that i can dispute the purchase with paypal and get my money back. just a matter of filing the report and showing evidence of the seller's recent behavior. the bummer is that i thought i got a great deal on the swingarm! was looking forward to a project on the "salvaged" 900ss i picked up.

Maybe.

Did you purchase the extra protection when you paid?

I got hosed on an R1 front end on eBay last year. I filed all the paperwork, read all the fine print. Paypal found the seller at fault and was able to recover about $16 for me.

I saw a listing of some Ti Nitrate forks from this guy, I need some bad. I e-mailed him and got no response. Glad I didnt win the bid. If you get any info on him in LA I can see If can do anything for ya since I live in LA. File the claim and hopefully its not as bad as my Ebay claim that took 3 years since it had to go to Federal Court...long story.

Here's one on me.

Re: help requested for eBay auction... anybody know this seller ... (s4strati)

DAMN STRATI... I wish I knew you were looking for a SSS, I had a swingarm that I just relisted from a non-paying bidder. Unfortunately, it's sold (I shipped it today). I wish I could help you out.

That being said, the guy that just bought my swingarm.... I had to send him the invoice 4 times before he responded (finally with payment). But 8 days is way to long to not get SOME communication.

Good luck and let me know if you need anything. I still have a few parts left, not many, but some...

If you look at this person's feedback and then look at the ducatioutlet feedback it seems that they are the same person. I pulled up ducatioutlet since he since he picked up an item as a "local pickup". My gut says it's the same person trying to establish a new ebay account. On the 3rd page of the ducati outlet feedback there is a buyer who has this guy's phone number. You might want to try and make contact with him.

Re: help requested for eBay auction... anybody know this seller ... (s4strati)

Strati -

I could swear that is a swingarm that was listed sometime last year that I looked at bidding, on until a more complete one crossed my path. Something about the red diamond plate backgrouns in the photo looks way too familiar to me, for some reason. It is highly possible that this guy collected some photos and posted listings using pics of someone else's stuff.

Good luck with getting your money back - I have heard Paypal can be a hassle.

Re: help requested for eBay auction... anybody know this seller ... (s4strati)

Strati - You are dealing with the biggest BITCH on the planet. She (she does the sales under her husbands name) has f**ked me hard on ebay - then she left me negative feedback, but I won't get into that.

There was a thread on this site dedicated to her as she screwed other members. It was under a different ebay user name for me and the other person. Was ducatioutlet when I was scammed. That is their game - list things, take money and switch name. They always have an @adelphia.net email so I never buy from anybody with that address.

I had to go through paypal to get my money back and the seller was threatening me with law suits etc...

Hi everyone,I am the schmuck that bought the engine. Man file a complaint with PayPal NOW!!! My deadline is the 6th so I will know what I will get back then. I did get emails from them till the day after I paid. Looks like Ebay would be able to nab the F*%ks ....then again they probably dont give a rip.
