I going to visit my in-laws this weekend in NYC, (they actually live in Long Island). Any good Ducati shops in the area? I love stopping at Ducati shops when I travel. Any recommendations?
Re: Heading to NYC... What Duc Shop? (YellowDesmo998)
Even though your clues to that sign-identification game a while back were worthless to me
and I didn't win here's my
:
In the city there are no Duc shops. Outside the city Jimmy listed the places to check. Someone else mentioned Rockwell cycles in Ft. Montgomery but it's a solid 45 minutes North (and will cost you $6 to cross the river to get up there
)
If you really want to get your Duc fix though and you find yourself w.idle time Sat hit me - I'll be at my garage north of the city where a veritable Duc showroom exists
E,
I was in Formula 1 not too long ago, they had a 05 999R on the showroom floor , along with 3 998's , couple 748's,1 Bimota and a bunch of monsters and Jap bikes as well.
Some interesting bikes in there that aren't for sale , ask about them.
The 05 999R .. mmmmmmmmmm
Tell Joe that Tony says hello if you stop in there.
Thanks for the tips! Which out of the three would you consider the best in terms of showroom/accessories? I'm not in the need for any work, I just want to stop in and get something. I don't know what yet, but something
Rockwell’s is a great shop to deal with. I actually bought my Ducati Retro jacket from them over the internet several years ago. Nice people, but it a bit to far to go with the family.
Re: Heading to NYC... What Duc Shop? (YellowDesmo998)
I think Rockwell's probably has the best of both though the winter months generally (and as of two wks ago) has their floor looking rather anemic. They've got lots of gear and some nice accessories to ogle.
You can at least get down to Aprilia NY, 6th at Spring St. Flies on shite when you walk in they're not but Dutch, the service mngr, is a solid fellow who's got a 916 and unofficially wrenches Ducs at the shop. Lots of Dainese gear but not a whole lot more interesting IMO.
There was a Duc shop just north of the Javits Center last year.Nice place but shit on the floor.
Rockwell north of Bear Mtn has great stuff on the floor plus nice stuff on the walls. The stairs are slippery and head on up Perkins drive for some cool photo ops.
Walk across the bridge and climb up the east side of the abutment. Good views too.
That erea is a great place to kill a half a day.
