Well that's hitting the nail on the head.Harbor Freight China special victorious.![]()
Way too late for that around here....just ask the Walmart purchasing agents. Most here appreciate quality over price.....
Smarten up, Folks, before everything we buy is made in China
I sincerely urge everyone to do their best to support local companies, not far-reaching international conglomerates who dictate price over quality. The devaluation comes at an extreme price. :bangheadWay too late for that around here....just ask the Walmart purchasing agents.
I have one and it does work but does not hold the pressure with a load unless you use the safety post once lifted:bangheadnah those things self destruct in weeks when used in an actual shop.
luckily there is at least one company making handy clones.
youre only supposed to support the load with pressure until you can get the prop bar in place, then relieve the pressure and let the bar take the weight. Otherwise youre just asking for it to blow seals.I have one and it does work but does not hold the pressure with a load unless you use the safety post once lifted:banghead
Hell, sponsors on this forum are even selling Taiwanese knockoffs. Right Mrgrn?Way too late for that around here....
One could argue that designed-in obsolescence is a worse one.Selling a product to someone once every 10 years isn't a good business model.![]()
Here's another bit of info that everyone might want to listen to:Harbor Freight China special victorious.![]()
the parts can just be made there with the same materials and programs they just have to pay 30 cents a hour compared to X here. Here's another bit of info that everyone might want to listen to:
I was talking to a guy the other day who knows a lady who has a company that makes solar panels. She said that China has gotten into the solar biz bigtime and in about a year and a half the price of panels will drop to half what they are now. This is really gonna hurt U.S. producers if they produce here. I'd guess that the Chinese companies are subsized more than ours too. This globalization thing is killing us in so many ways. There's a giant sucking sound eminating from developing countries and the straw reaches here. There's little we can do about it. We're screwed. Harbor Freight may sell crap but that doesn't mean everything China produces is crap. It's getting tougher and tougher to stay in business in America and to do it in a responsible manner. We could lessen environmental regulations and beurocracy but somehow I don't think that's the problem. There are stronger fundamentals at work here.
I think Rocky is in the solar biz. What say you coRky?
