Thats right.
Been havin some decent temps with mild winds...the roads are still dirty and I been werkin at a Suzuki shop buildin bikes, ATVs and Sea Doos.
I like it and come October it will be a full time career change for me. A big step too.
But today was a epic moment.

My boss...has a 04 1K gixxer..and a race licence with some track time under his belt.
I schooled his ass today. I took my Duc and showed him some Ducati nose right where he never thought he would see it.
The roads were sandy and it was evident the Duc has mongo torque and Im not sure it it was the tire spinnin or the clutch slippin.
All the shit I heard of the 999 bein under powered is bullshit.
You wring the 999s neck and she screams.
Right to left transitions are freakin amazingly negotiated.
When we finished our slaughter of 2 counties and got back to the shop he told me in private that he needs more throttle......

I only have about 300 on my new 05 , my 04 had 2400 on it when it blew.

I was just wondering because I wont take my 05 above 6000rpm till after the 600 mile service , let alone race it wide ass open Vs a Gixxer.
Everyone has thier own idea of break in , Im taking the safe route.
I have owned a 04 999 with termi's etc and as much as I liked it , I would have to say that a 04 Gixxer 1k will spank a 04 999 head to head, both riders being equal.

To be realistic you should challenge your boss to a comparision of skills on the track

A lot of us track junkies don't ride aggressive on the streets and you don't have to be "fast" to get a race license

I have friends who I completely school on the street then when we get to the track they can lap me at will. Glad you had fun though.
