Not suprisingly Ducati does not sell parts for their starter motors, only the entire motor at quite a high cost
. I needed to relace only the positive stud on my starter (97' 900SS CR.) For these starters, the positive stud (which sticks out the starter case) is attached permanently to a thick copper wire and the positive motor brush. After a bit of searching I found that the entire brush plate assembly is identical to Rick's Electric part number 70-503. Only $40 direct from http://www.ricksmotorsportelectrics.com After speaking to them on the phone I was able to order just the positive brush for $5. The starter is made by Nippondenso. So if you need those parts, now you can save cash
