Fuel Line quick disconnects...

Possible 'strange' question:

I am getting ready to start working 2 sets of bodywork on an SS1000DS...
Do fuel line disconnects work?:

I just want to make it easier to swap my tanks...

Any problems in my thinking? Will I have to do all 4 hoses? I just hate wrestling with them and using screws/clamps to make sure that the tank/supply line doesn't leak all over the place...

TIA,

good idea,but buy the s/s ones,my plastic ones split and spuued fuel all over motor,one thing to consider is if you race and crash and the tank comes off, the plastic ones let go but the s/s ones wont which increases the chance of a fire

BlondeDuc, I don't know if these will work on the Supersports but the metal replacements for the 996 quick disconnects are available from Omega ( http://www.omega.com ) The part numbers are: FT-LCD100-04 for the female and FT-LCD230-06 for the male ends. Thanks to LT Snyder for that information. I just ordered a couple sets myself and they are a perfect fit and great quality. The plastic ones tend to get brittle with age and break.

Triumphs also have a problem the plastic fittings cracking. Go with the metal ones.

All:

So there's no problem with fuel pressure or anything?
(I guess either it starts or it doesn't???
)

THANKS!

Never been any problem with any Superbike except for the plastic fittings breaking (which I have never had happen-lucky for me) or nicking the o-ring when inserting the male fitting into the female (which I have had happen to me). Overall, the good outweighs the bad 20 to 1 IMHO.
