I went for a jaunt today and noticed my front brake reservoir cap is detiorating, to the point to where it is almost leaking. Does anyone know where I can get a new cap at a reasonable price? Me thinks that being the bike is a 2001 and the cap is already going bad, I may want to go with an aluminum piece. Pro-Bolt has them for $50, but does anyone know where I can source one for a bit less? (It's just a fcuking cap!) Any help would be appreciated.

Even OEM would be good I guess. I just don't want to keep replacing it every couple of years.

Re: Front Brake Reservoir cap? (CaliDuc)

You can get a whole new reservoir from Yoyodyne for about $15. Look in the 'Brembo spares' section.

You can always do what I did, strip it, use a little steel wool to get the remaining grime off, and then shoot it with a coat of paint. It worked really well for me and I painted it to accent the frame.

A HUGE thank you to Ducman851. Sent me an extra he had laying around. Another happy ending here on Speedzilla. My g/f asked me why I am always on this site. I told her, "Remember that show 'Cheers'? Speedzilla is kind of like that. Dave is the bartender and we even have our own 'Norm'."

Speaking of which, Hey John, if you need anything anodyzed let me know. You helped me out, I would be more than happy to return the favor.

Re: Front Brake Reservoir cap? (CaliDuc)

Did you check to see whether the rubber diaphragm under the cap is leaking? If brake fluid gets past the diaphragm it will eat the cap in no time. My old 900ss did exactly the same thing.
