Hey Guys! I just wanted to say that from what I've read on this forum, prior to becoming a FNG, this forum seems like a great foundation for a new RC51 owner! When I was a Sergeant in Texas, I caught my first sight of an RC51, the Nickey Hayden edition, and I was hooked! The body lines, stance, and most importantly the sound of that V-twin made me want one! When the '05 came out, and I spotted the black one at the dealership, I "attempted" to buy it, thankfully my GySgt told me to check the insurance rate before I get the ball rolling. That was a SAVE, the insurance was like a monthly Cadillac Escalade note! Fast forward to last week! I had been through 3 Harleys and the best (IMHO) 600cc ever made, '05 Kawi' 636, and I was FINALLY able to snatch up my dream bike! Her previous owner coincidentally owned 2 other RC51's and decided not to molest the one he sold me; the only mods were the slip-on Yoshi pipes, it only had 10,800 on the clock and it rides like a dream! I love the roar of the V-twin, and the feel of a sport bike, thankfully I was able to snatch this Keeper! I look forward to learning from you guys and today I got to learn about compression/rebound/dampening, the front end is pretty stiff in the turns and over bumps, and I'm anxious to try to flapper mod I did tonight (hose disconnect & plug) Thanks for this site!
