First time since September crash...

Well it made it into the sixties here today and I fired up 998 and went for a ride. I had completely taken apart the fuel system when I had it apart and even though the pump primed right away, there was still a lot of air in the lines. She turned over quite a bit before she fired, but is normal now. I really like my new clutch assembly; an aluminum basket from a 999 (complements of Emperor Nero
)Barnett aluminum clutch kit, and a Speedy Moto pressure plate, it is all very smooth and takes no effort at all to get neutral while stopped and running. My sister said I will probably be apprehensive when I ride again, I told her I will be fine and it's certainly not my first crash. I had a pretty big grin as I lofted the front end, took it to 10,000 rpm and started clicking gears. I was right.

I was out today too. The weather was very nice, if somewhat windy. I didn't make it over to the East side of the river, mostly I ended up in the Wildlife Prairie Park area. Where did you go riding, Phil?

Re: (Hickey)

I didn't go very far at all. I still need to put some clear protector on the tank and the chin V. As you noticed there is so much salt and crap on the roads I am looking forward to a few good rain showers to wash them off. It did feel great to be back in the saddle though.

Today it was pretty good weather in NC as well.

It was sunny all day, 59 degrees.

I've put 210 miles on my 999. It was nice.

I almost forgot how cool it was to ride.

Man, I am so happy spring is coming!!!!!!! I am gonna wet my panties.

Phil, glad your back at it. I was there last spring (crashed that is) it get's in your head a little. Take care and enjoy!

All I did was change brake fluid in the bikes and ride my daughters XR 100 around in the yard!

Glad your back on top paesano. BTW, that basket was from my crash last summer. I'm gonna finally need corrective surgery on my shoulder to fully recover. So I know the feeling of first getting back on a bike after a nasty drop. Sounds like you've been having a good time in the interim "parting up" your ride. Enjoy and be safe.

Re: (Nero)

And what did you think of the Pilot Powers?

Re: (J.U.996SPS)

Didn't even start to ride hard or warm them up and with all the salt on the roads I won't push anything right now. The steering feels light and they didn't squirm on the tar snakes like my Pirellis did. I think I'll like them.
