CORRECTION! decision's made. parting out 2000 900ss/ie!

hey gang,
i recently picked up a salvaged 2000 900ss as a 30th bday present to myself. weeee!! it's actually in very good shape and i just finished sorting it to retitle it. or at least i thought so. it's however turning out to be a bit of a nightmare getting this thing cleared for use in massachusetts. with my other current obligations, it would take about another month of labor, paperwork shuffling and finding bits and pieces to get it satisfactory for clearing the title. at that rate, i'm figuring on just refocussing my efforts to finish my monster s4 project and breaking the SS for parts.
long story, i know, but before committing to pulling this baby apart, i figured i'd try to get a feel for interest for the major components. bike is currently complete with 12k mile (valves checked) so we're talking:

motor (runs strong, no probs. valves adjusted)
frame (salvaged with very minor damage)
3spoke rims (5.5" rear)
fuel tank (dime-sized ding, no leaks or other damage)
aluminum swingarm (perfect)
forks (3way adjustable, excellent)
shark-skins (full fairing street units)

any interest? i can start taking detailed pics and pulling her apart this weekend if there's interest.

I might be interested in the engine, depending on price. But I probably won't have enough cash for a couple of months. So if you do part it out and can't find a buyer for the engine after a couple of months...

thanks jager, but i'm only figuring on breaking the bike if i know i can unload the motor, frame, forks and rims straight away to recoup some quick cash (buying a new car for the mrs... want to help with downpayment).

Those forks won't work on my M900 with the OEM bars, right?

if you want, we can trial-fit 'em nick. i'm pretty sure they'll fit. you'll just have a tight reach trying to make adjustments i think. gimme a call tonight when you're in front of the bike and we can compare some measurements (have a tape-measure handy)... or if you want, i've got a spare fork (left over from my rebuild efforts). if you want to throw one on or just size it up next to the M, i can drop it off with you tomorrow.

How much would you want for the sharkskinz? Are they the race versions or the street ones?

What's your price for the aluminum swingarm. I have a 1999 750ss/ie. I believe it is a straightforward swap (with some careful attention to shims) - do you agree?

hey jesse,
i've got another inquiry on the sharkskinz but if it falls through, i'm looking for $450 + shipping. they're the street versions upper and lower. retails for $622. they've got a basic coat of semi-gloss black on them. i'll post pics soon.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jpuck91 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">How much would you want for the sharkskinz? update guys...
shot a bunch of pics last night. motor could really use a degreasing but i haven't touched the bike with a sponge because i wanted to just get the paperwork sorted first.

forks are spoken for, thanks. swingarm's $500 + shipping. comes with pivot rod and all necessary shims for mounting to motor.

correction... inquires made on forks but no "sale" yet. I'd like to get $500 for them. exellent shape 3way adjustable showas. direct bolt on for all supersports. if you're running clip-ons, these are also a direct bolt on for all monsters (they're a bit longer than monster forks so they'd conflict with the OEM handlebar).

What about a left side mirror, and that pressure plate? And does it have an aftermarket clutch slave?

sorry, but the clutch pictured is not for sale. it's a yoyodyne lightweight clutch kit with about 10 "shakedown" miles on it. not nearly worth selling for a loss. it'll find it's way into the next CLEAN titled bike i buy.
