Yourself
Envision this, you’re a real world class racer not some wanna be Rossi, but a real WSBK or GP500/MotoGP.

you are # 1 at least today and you know this:

Your bike
Your bike is a one off and it doesn’t matter that the like of it or some wanna be replica is sold in the store a few miles away. This is the real thing, all nice and tidy with its CF dressing, slicks and suited suspension:

The time and place and context
It’s the last lap, but someone is in your way to the top of the podium , he’s been getting in your way and you’re quite confident you’re faster than him but you’re having hard time to pass him….

And it can only end in tears question is which of you is gonna take the spoils

And which is gonna hit his team mate make a complete fool of himself.

Feasts and elbows in the last lap – my contribution:
Eastern Crick Australia, last lap Doohan leads from Alex Criville, after a couple of passes Alex decided some innovation is in place:

"Your perception of racing needs to be fine tuned' Classic :woot:

God that was THE period IMO. MotoGP's got progressively more boring since.
Indeed a classic, couldn't find the original though.

"I was on the inside,
you know what racing is right?
I was on the inside."

Mighty Mick explains racing to his team mate....

Cheers mate.

Next up, Chili vs. Fogy.
Chili has crashed trying too hard into the corner on the brakes.
It doesn't seem to be too much more like "that's racing" but then post race he comes and provides his full knowledgeable opinion on his
team mate....wearing a robe....

Sure hope he had something underneath it. :D

Excellent post. Anybody mind explaining this photo? I don't believe I've ever seen it.
Don't recall the track but that's Dani hitting Nicky while exiting the pits without checking pit lane is clear.
My best recollection this was pre season testing or something like that.

Smart move Dani :wacky

Not the only time the #3 Repsol was on the deck in the pits that year.

Sepang test - Max exiting his pit box collided with Nicky entering his. Both bikes went down and were damaged, neither rider was hurt.

However, it was at the penultimate round of the season at the Turkish GP when Max pulled in to the pit after finishing twelfth, announced that his Repsol bike was shit, and dropped it on the tarmac out of spite. He was fired from HRC, and Honda vowed not to supply bikes to any other team that would hire him.

Thanks, I knew Honda had banned him but didn't know the real reason until now. Makes sense, they did him a favour really.

Maybe Dani was wearing Max's leathers and riding his #3 bike and that's why he fell over in the pits? Cuz the leathers were too long and the suspension was too high to touch the ground.
:banghead me.

I've seen this picture several times don't know why I got fixated on that being Dani and not Max.

Probably because they're racing technique are so similar...ride and whine technique, ride some more, be 2nd runner up to Doohan, whine some more, loss to KRJ, whine some more, loss to Rossi, get you new specially develop YZR 1M, loose to Rossi on 990cc, whine some more, get Rossi’s bike Rossi get yours, loose again whine again, ….

Anyway my bad and I need to make amends:
Suzuka 1991:

Kevin Schwants, Mick Doohan and Wayne Rainey, 500cc smokers and no TC but your right hand.

Italian salute:rockon
I would expect you'd bring up Argentina 98 Capirossi vs. Harada.
Last lap, next to last corner, if Harada wins this race he wins the championship, if not Capirossi will be the new 250 champion.

But Capirossi is having hard time to pass so why not crash both of them?
Capirossi brings he's team mate down

Post race his own team files a complaint against him....Loser

P.S.
98 was Rossi's first year in GP250, he is part of the same Aprilia dream team as Harada and Capirossi.
