I was recently given a jetting recommendation which consisted of using a 182 (DJ182) main from Dynojet. I checked the company's web site (Dynojet Jet Kits - Offering Motorcycle Jet Kits & ATV Jet Kits) and they list the DJ series of jets as using gaps of 5 from size 150 on up (making it virtually impossible to get a 182). On the other hand, I know that Keihin makes a 182....

My question, then, is has anyone ever heard of a DJ182? If yes, any idea where I could get one?

cheers

P.S. sorry for the non-RC51 content, but there is very little activity in the VTR section, I am hoping this will get me better access to "knowledgeable types", lol

Dynojet jets are numbered differently than Keihin.

Thanks. I e-mailed Dynojet and the rep replied they never made a 182. Was he unaware of a time when they did make them? Mistake in the number? Or the jet is actually NOT from DJ but rather a Keihin/Factory Pro?

Questions, questions......

Hey mikstr,

IF All else fails:
Here's a Great tip for you, something I did (made) approx. 12+ Years ago, I made My very Own Custom Main Jet sizes! How You ask? Well,....
I've got these Super Sweet> Pin gages at work, infact, this "Pin Gage Set" is So Fine, it actually made My job of making said> Custom Main Jets very easy to do!

mikstr: I made these for My VF1000R because I HAD Too!
After I made My Custom "Real Functioning RAM AIR system" for her..... and after I got this working, I was making My said> Custom Main Jet sizes.:rockon

So, what I'm telling you is,.... IF you can't find what Main Jets you are looking for.... just go and buy 4 to 6 of Main Jets you want...
I started small, so I could work up.... after my 2nd drilling I was GOLDEN!

Let me know IF I can be of any help to You, AND Or.... send me Your "Main Jets" and I'll make them whatever size you want!;)

I Hope this Helps You Mike...?

Peace Jeff

Thanks for looking :)

BTW, I got a reply back from the chap who had suggested the odd 182 size and it seems I was correct in suggesting it was a Keihin jet and not a DJ. NO problems getting a 182 anymore.....

cheers

Hey Maverick,

I don't disagree with your signature statement but out of curiosity this is what I found:

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/j/jefferson-quotes.htm

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."-Truth! Found on Page 51 Note:The entire quote reads: "No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms [within his own lands]" PROPOSED Virginia CONSTITUTION. FORD ED., ii, 27. (June, 1776.)

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."-Unproven! This quote was not found in the Jeffersonian Cyclopedia but several websites have attributed this to Jefferson.
