Hey guys
I'm being forced to sell my Foggy due to the difficulty of conversion from euro spec to U.S. spec.
(long story, but was lied to by German dealership) I'm visiting Savanah for work, than returning to Germany where i'm stationed. Would like to check out some dealerships so I can re-purchase a bike and have it shipped back to me in Germany so I can ride this summer. Its killing me to sell my Foggy, it fits so right. Planned on keeping it forever. Anyone have any suggestions for a reputable/fair dealer. I'll be in Savanah for 3 more days.Still trying to figure out what bike I want to replace my baby

Re: Ducati dealer near Savanah GA? (r-t-r)

Im 20 minutes from Savannah , no Ducati dealers here.
Closest dealer locations are Jacksonville FL http://www.cycleaccessorieswest.com, Atlanta Ducati http://www.atlantatriumphducati.com and Ducshop for service in Marrietta Ga http://www.ducshop.com.
There is a dealer in Charleston SC but I DO NOT recommend them.
Since you only have 3 days or so, I would suggest contacting Atlanta Ducati for sales, I have heard good things about them and then trying to get to Atlanta its about 3.5-4 hours away.
Or Jacksonville is about 1 1/2 hours away but never dealt with them.
I can recommend http://www.redlinemotors.com where my 999 is at now , but they are in VA, quite a long drive but worth it in my experience and I know they ship all over.Give them a call at least and see what they can do for you.
Good luck.

999Duc,
Thats for the info. I,ll look at Redlinemotors. I fly into Andrews A.F.B. every now and than. I'll see how far the drive would be, if I wanted to check them out. I,m also considering a 999 as a replacement for my Foggy. Are you happy with yours? Why is your bike way up there?

Get in touch with Jason @ Section8superbike...he is here all the time...great service and better deals! I know he isn't in your area, but you could have the bike dropped shipped straight to Germany! and avoid a long drive:

I can't say enough good things about them...they have helped more than any dealer should or could!

I agree that Jason at Section 8 would also be great to deal with , but he is soo far from here that I didnt think it was a option in your case since you wanted to go see some bikes in person.

If I went into detail in this thread as to why my bike has been in the shop for a month and as to why I drove my bike to a dealership 8 hours away instead of only 2 hours away , it would get ugly fast.
I could tell you about it if you would like , I think you could benefit from it .
PM me if you would like to be warned.

I'm wondering if shipping the bike to Germany will be easy. Curious about customs and hidden costs. How many dealers are experienced with shipping worldwide? The other thing is, would the bike arrive unassembled and is it better to ship the bike to a German dealer for prep work. I'm looking for the most hassle free way of doing this.

The bike from Jason comes in a factory Ducati crate...all you have to do is swing the bars around and install the windscreen. I know that he ships bikes regularly out west (AZ)....as far as europe...IMO it's just a longer flight, and the frieght forwarder should handle the paperwork for you!

Jason and Bill are the most hassle free way.

Look I have two Ducati dealers 30 min. in opposite directions from me. One is great, and the other I choose not to do business with. So why would I take the time to tell you about a place 2000miles from my house? Talk to the guys at Section8 and you will know why. Its like talking to a fellow Duc enthusiast, not a used car dealer. They will tell you straight out what the deal is, and after visiting their website and reading thru the tech bits, and then calling Jason and ordering parts...it became aparent where I was buying my next bike from....Do yourself a favor call them and give them 10 minutes...I think you will be impressed. Can you tell I just bought a bike from them???
