Re: Does anyone here live near these guys.. JC Whitney? (Phil 998)

OK, cat is out of the bag, I am looking to do an MV style pipework for my MH.

They sell an 8 inch shorty pipe as shown below, I want to get a better picture and find out some info, I want to know the inside diameter and I wonna know if it has fibreglass or similar packing and then the outer shell I need to know the diametre.

I also want a picture of how the ends finish to see what has to be done to finish them and I want four of them.

I have sent them e's but the girl that replied was no use whatsoever, I do not want to buy something that won't work hence my query, we cannot get anything here like that to buy off the shelf unfortuately.

So unless someone happens to have a spare MV muffler that they wonna quite that is where I am at, any help for the above would be magic.

The problem with JC Whitney is they are such a huge company that many of their items are dropped shipped so there is a good chance that they don't even stock those items at that location. I have seen plenty of MV pipes for sale here on German ebay and http://www.mobile.de (in the past) but for some reason I just did a search and neither site has anything right now!
if you like can keep an eye out for you

Looks like a VW exhaust tip to me... have you taken a look at the tips for an aircooled Bug?

Not as yet, what I wonna get is some small mufflers similar to above, I have my old MH cake tin that I am happy to modify as I have a brand new one sitting in a box of goodies.

I want to graft them on to the collecter box which can be very easily done but I need some pipes that are in the 50 to 60 mm dia range and 200 - 300 mm long, hell I would even look at Harley stuff and buy four independant pipes, looking at the MV system only a part of it would be useful and the rest throw away hence I am keener to start with something like the above.

Excuse the photoshop chop, my winkies have sagged so I will remove the rubber bit and tuck them in nice and tight..

I think that actually looks cool!! Keep us posted if you do this. The four pipes match the tail really well.

I agree 100%, looks like what they should have done in the first place.

Re: (Monstaman)

Andi, do you still want me to stop by J.C. Whitney for you? The address you gave is their main distribution center and is huge, I've been there a few times.

Re: (Phil 998)

Yes please but only if you are going there, don't make a special trip, what I really need is some up close and personal pics of the pipe pictured to see if it is suitable for what I wonna do.

OR does anyone know of any other possibilities to achieve my idea?

50 to 60mm is to large i would think. try 4 pipes at 25 to 30mm.
