Meh.

When I worked at Ford 25 years ago we had a running bet on who could clock off, walk across the road to the pub, drink the most pots of beer, walk back and clock in again during a 30 minute lunch break.

I held the record for a week or two with 9. :rockon

(I don't drive a Ford).

2,833 employees, about 20 drinking and getting high!
What's your point about American workers, exactly?

Why can't people see what they were doing is wrong. People always make up excuses for this and that. They were wrong period. Suspend, fire do whatever
needs to be done to get the message to other employees that this is wrong. All those making excuses for them the next time you have your lunch break, at your job, go have a beer and smoke some dope. If you get caught you can tell them it's my free time to do whatever I want.

Yep! We need all auto companies to go bankrupt (again) and then start from scratch with non-union people. Let the union leaches starve to death or eat their fat pensions till they choke on them.

+1 on the junk.

I've sold into most of the major auto plants and it's an absolute disgrace how they do their utmost to slow down the works. And yes, I've smelled booze on a lot of floor grunts after lunch. Fire their asses in a heartbeat. Better yet, just do some random pee testing. I bet 15% of them will fail.

As to the turds that got tv busted I'd bet the union has them back at work within a week as a protected species. 60 minutes did a similar sting segment at a Ford plant a few years ago.

it seems to me the union law is written to protect the imcompetent, ensure work is as easy as possible, responsibility for attendence minimal, but benefits maxed out.

They work for fat, lazy Unions who produce mostly JUNK.;)

UAW: Biggest consumers of Viagra! Way to go losers!:rockon
That's the most ignorant post I've read in a long time. I understand you're just trying to stir the pot but you are so wrong so many times when it comes to the UAW that even if you state the truth on any subject it's not believable.

Just so you know, the workers work for the corporation not the union and the union is bound by federal law to represent all the members good and bad. The law needs to be changed so the unions don't get sued by the bad apples when they get fired by the company and the union agrees they shouldn't come back.

As far as the Viagra BS, it's not an approved medication for UAW health insurance.

It's not the union law. It's the federal law. The union doesn't get to pick and choose.

People are people. Compare union workers to non-union workers and the percentage of good to bad is likely the same.

As far as easy jobs, last time I did a study, seven out of ten of the most efficient assembly plants in North America were UAW represented.

Back when the UAW workers were making their highest wages and benefits, they could have worked for free and it wouldn't have made a difference regarding GM and Chrysler bankruptcy.

UAW Labor cost per car was only about 8%. Now the new wage for new hires is $12 to $14 per hour with little to no benefits.

That $70 dollar an hour figure that was reported over and over again in the press was calculated by taking all the retiree's pension and benefits and adding that cost to the active workers wages of $28 an hour. Retirees out number active at least 4 to 1.

GM lost BILLIONS on the failed joint venture with Fiat. Future product plans were cut as a result and GM still almost recovered but the financial meltdown was the last nail.

You can point fingers at the union and the workers all you want but Rick Wagoner and the board of directors risked GM's future on failed joint ventures and lost. It's just easier to blame the workers.

Who is full of shit here? Certainly not the Union boy, right?
GM Spends $17 Million Per Year on Viagra

Retirees milking the system baby! They are still Union, whether you like it or not. Bankrupt the entire system and hopefully they'll lose their pensions and then start over from scratch. Leaches, all of them!

Quite living in the past. The contract was changed in 2006 and Viagra is no longer covered for hourly workers. Not sure about salaried employees but I bet the CEO is covered. You did read the part about the salaried employees getting the pill as well right? In case you didn't know they are not union.

As for the pensions, if they go under the government picks up the cost. Your tax dollars at work Jami.:D

Aren't there more retired UAW people than actives? So they are draining the system and popping Viagra like I said the Union was. Union members, present or past, are still Union members sucking their employers dry. You weren't homeschooled, were you?

Hey Jami, as long as you're living in the past, remember this.

YouTube - Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M3
Yes, the E46 was introduced 10 years ago and got beat by a car with 213 more HP and 6 years newer? :clapper Do they even make Cadillacs anymore?:woot:

You can take a piece of spoiled, maggot-laden meat (Cadillac) and put spices on it and make it taste like a hamburger. But it'll NEVER be filet mignon (BMW)!:rockon
