Dimensions of rear seat?

Can someone take some measurments and let me know what the length and width of the rear passenger seat are? I'd do it myself but I'm in Iraq and my bike...well, it's not.

I'm wondering if a Motofizz medium tail bag can be made to fit. It's either that or the more expensive Ventura system.

At any rate, I'd really appreciate any info on the seat measurements.

So You want the actual Seat size, NOT the hole or the seat pan... OK will do.

I'll give you my numbers today, after I get home from work... Unless someone else posts up the same numbers. You'll get my reply #s approx. 5pm today.

Yep, looking for the measurements of the seat itself. I want to see if the bag will fit on the seat itself without too much of it hanging off or if I'll need to construct a platform for it. If I do have to build a platform, I'll likely pick up a piece of aluminum and bolt it to the rear seat, as I've seen on a couple of different bikes (not RC's, though). It's either that or spending $300-$500 for the Ventura pack system. Though going the MotoFizz route would be cheaper, I still might end up getting the Ventura pack system.

And why? Because my wife and I will be living apart and I'll most likely be making weekend trips up to see her and it's almost a 400 mile drive. So 800 miles per weekend at 35-40 mpg on the bike or 20 mpg at best in the truck.

And don't worry about me staying safe. I'm enroute on my way home as I type this. One week from today I'll be back in the states and grateful to be so.

Hey Swodi,

+1 with biltforspeed measurements, except mine is only
7.5" in the middle
7.75" at the front/widest point, however, my seat has NEVER been used either, it's still in the plastic bag.

Thanks for the info, guys. Looks like I might be able to make this work without having to build a platform after all. My bike didn't even come with a rear seat; I bought a used one off someone here for a song just so I could use it to keep luggage off the rear cowl.

All I have to do now is spoon some new tires on there (thinking of Pirelli Angels for commuting and long-distance work) and I'll be good to go.

Yeah Mav my rear seat has been used & abused by my ex 300lb girlfriend, hence why the padding is all mushed, her fat ass just crushed it! :woot:
