Dealer Question - Cliffs in Danbury CT?

Cliff's BMW/Aprilia is now an official Ducati Dealer. I have heard great things about them on the BMW side. Interesting commentary on MotoFixx in Norwlk - about 10 or 15 miles away.

Does anyone have experience with Cliffs? I was going to trailer my bike up to BCM, but the work needed is minor and I'm having trouble finding the time to get up there and back....

I've had Cliffs put tires on. They do good work as far as I can tell. The store is fairly well stocked, but a little on the expensive side, I did get them to come down $25 on a pair of Vertigo Corsa boots. I hadn't heard they were going to be a Ducati shop. I really don't like MotoFixx at all.

Opps, need to update my profile. I'm in Westport, CT. There are a few shops in California that would be a lot closer - Nichols, DesmoSport, GP, Scott Waters, Evoluzione. Hmmm, only one dealer on my list.

Hey it looks like we have a nice crew in CT around here

MotoFixx is not bad, if you get to know the guys then they give you great service. I can allway have my bike in and out in a few hours on short notice

We all have to set up a nice ride sometime. I know some very nice roads in the area.

Let me amend my previous post. I do not like the sales people at MotoFixx and the parts guys seem clueless. I went there once to buy a Duc, but was not taken seriously. So I ended up buying my Duc at Libby's in New Haven. Funny how they wouldn't take me seriously. When I went to purchase I was late 30's in Vanson Leathers and was given the bums rush. Also I called once to order some tires and have them mounted and they offered my an appointment in like a week. As to the other CT Duc riders out there, lets ride when the weather allows. I do know lots of good roads here in western and north western CT and part of NY as well.

I use Dyno Solutions at Cliff's, but never dealt with them directly. Libby's is cool.

My Motofix story : Made appointment for 12K service , 3 week wait. Brought it in, supposed to have it back in 2 days. They called and said they didn't have any parts to service it. (98 916). Left it there a week, still no parts. Service guy calls and asks if I want to take for the weekend and then bring it back. I did and the front timing belt broke and bent the valves. I knew it needed the service and rode it anyway so my bad (sort of). I have them pick the bike up and repair it. $1400.00. They deliver the bike by truck, I roll it in the garage and lock it up. Next nice day I go to ride it, roll it out of garage, gear up, sit on bike , cranks but no start. Check gas, OK. Call dealer and ask to speak to mechanic that worked on bike, he no longer works there. Ask for advice, none available. Asked when they could look at it, 2 weeks. I told him I had just spent $1400.00 on service and repair and he said he was sorry but they were busy. Bike had been serviced there 3 or 4 times before. I had purchased a new 2000 R1 there and had an 04 R1 on order at the time of this debacle. Got my deposit back and bought the R1 elsewhere. I heard a rumor that a independant shop with capable techs was going to open soon here in Fairfield. Hope so !
